I am hosting a training run on the Stone Steps 50k course on Memorial Day!  We did this two years ago, and everybody had a great time.  It will be a Fat Ass format: No fee, No award, No shirt, No whining!  You get what you pay for at this run!

With our loop format, you can run as far as you want, and some of us will certainly run 50k.  It's less than four weeks before Mohican, but still two weeks before the second leg of the SW Ohio 50k trail series, the Another Dam 50k.

Here are some details:

· Start time is 7:00 am, rain or shine, or join us at 8:00 am as we complete the first large loop

· Monday, Memorial Day, May 26th

· Start/finish at The Oval at Mount Airy Forest—look for my white Hyundai Sonata near the restrooms

· Please bring a snack to share for refreshment

· I’ll have a card table for the snacks and a notebook to record your name and split times

· I’ll put up some course markings (orange flags) on the first loop, then take them down on the last time through

(See a map of the park (Trail map #2) for directions to The Oval.)

Here’s a great resource for running your first 50k.  (Link fixed on 9/27)  Right-click here to download the file.  It’s a Power Point presentation your race directors gave at a seminar at The Running Spot.

A Fat Ass format training run was held on Saturday, May 27, 2006.  Thanks for coming out!  Here is a picture of the 18 starters:
